The Zimmerman Telegram was a telegram from Germany to Mexico urging them to join Germany in ww1. In return, they promised that if they won, Germany would help Mexico regain territory that was captured by the U.S..This influenced U.S. entry into ww1 because the U.S. was very angry about Germany threatening to attempt to take land from the U.S.

The British were the U.S.’s closest trading partners, with Germany declaring war against all ships that entered British territory, that effected the U.S.’s ability to then trade with Britain

The Lusitania was a British luxury boat full of everyday civilians, including some Americans, when German submarines then bombed the boat, costing several of the lives aboard. This enraged the U.S. since not only were 1,195 civilians killed, but the methods enlisted by this German warfare method broke international naval protocol
