The disadvantages of hydroelectric energy would be the disruption of habitats, flooding, lack of sites and that sites may stop producing energy. <span>The most common type of </span>hydroelectric power<span> plant uses a dam on a river to store water in a reservoir. Water released from the reservoir flows through a turbine, spinning it, which in turn activates a generator to produce electricity.</span>
The last statement is correct. Water stores heat better than land mass, so when the heat that is stored in land cools, the heat particles in the air over the ocean is packed very closely and want to be further away from each other. That causes the wind to blow towards land, where it is more room for particles. I hope that made sense.

<span>Wegener had the evidence that there are similar rock formations on different continents and that the shape and rock formations of continents on either side of an ocean fit quite nicely.
