Atahualpa

Atahualpa was the last Inca Emperor. He was defeated by Francisco Pizarro in 1533, dying in the middle of the central plaza of the city of Cajamarca, in central Peru.

Malintzin

Malintzin was a native american woman from the Mexican coast. He helped Cortes conquered the Aztec empire (she was not aztec, but belonged to another tribe) serving as interpreter, and advisor.

Conquistador

Conquistadors (literally "conquerors" in Spanish), were Spanish men who took up arms, and sailed to the Americas, looking for wealth, and prestige. Many of them were part of the lower nobility, and did not have many opporutnities in Spain. The two most famous conquistadors are Hernan Cortes, who conquered the Aztec Empire, and Francisco Pizarro, who conquered the Inca Empire.
