Invasive species are capable of causing extinctions of native plants and animals, reducing biodiversity, competing with native organisms for limited resources, and altering habitats. This can result in huge economic impacts and fundamental disruptions of coastal and Great Lakes ecosystems

Answer:An invasive species are organisms that are not native to the ecosystem or either the environment and causes damage and harm to the ecosystem. For example a rabbit comes into a ecosystem and eates all of the plants, then the type of species of rabbit is going to damage and destroy the ecosystem habitat or foodwebs etc.

Explanation:The things is that invasive species damage the ecosystems by eating all of the food that is need for the foodwebs and organisms to maintain and balance the environment around them. Also the reason why invasive species causes a threat to the environment by damage organisms habitats and leading organisms to having a habitat to organinsms that are losing their habitat because of invasive species.

Portland Oregon is close to the Pacific ocean how does its location help explain is climate use the word specific heat in your a
Mashcka [7]

Answer:

Alice Springs is landlocked in the middle of Australia. Portland Oregon is along the Pacific Ocean.

The specific heat of water is very high. The specific heat of land is lower.

This means it takes more heat/energy to change the temperature of water. In other words, the temperature of water is harder to change.  So I would expect temperatures of cities next to large bodies of water to remain relatively constant while landlocked cities temperatures to fluctuate more at the same latitudes.

Another factor comes into play for cities next to water. Because there is a difference between the temperature of land and water, interactions between temperatures can have effects such as winds and fog.
