Davis’s inaugural speech was mainly about the separation of the Confederate States from the Union. His speech highlighted that this separation was more of a necessity than a choice. Note how in this excerpt he states that the people have the right to change or abolish governments whenever they stray from their founding ideals and goals:

Our present condition, achieved in a manner unprecedented in the history of nations, illustrates the American idea that governments rest upon the consent of the governed, and that it is the right of the people to alter or abolish governments whenever they become destructive of the ends for which they were established.

How did Orwell's experiences in the Spanish Civil War influence him to write Animal Farm?
Travka [436]

Answer:

George Orwell changed during the Spanish Civil war. The influence of the war was so strong, that he felt hate to communism and those feelings he demonstrates in Animal farm. He demonstrates the irony of pigs’ actions that do the opposite of what the mayor ordered them to do. He sows pigs as self-serving.

Explanation:

Pigs indulge many luxury things, even though they criticized men:

"<em>And remember also that in fighting against Man we must not come to resemble him. Even when you have conquered him, do not adopt his vices. No animal must ever live in a house, or sleep in a bed, or wear clothes, or drink alcohol, or smoke tobacco, or touch money, or engage in trade..."</em>

Which literary device has Edmund Spenser used in these lines from Sonnet 9?
ser-zykov [4K]
The correct answer is C. Hyperbole. This is because her eyes do not really shine goodly light nor do they shine by night, he is just overreacting. It isn't a simile because it doesn't have the famous "as something as something" pattern, nor are they a metaphor because he describes her eyes obviously and doesn't try to symbolically represent them. They aren't personified and do not show human emotions or thoughts and opinions, or behavior.
