We know that the temperature to start off is 35, so in an equation y=mx+b with x representing the time in hours , m being the slope, and y being the temperature, when x=0 we have y=b, and since the temperature is 35 at the start, y=36=b, making our equation y=mx+35. Next, since we lose 4 degrees every hour, we have the slope, or the change in temperature every hour, equal to -4, making our equation y=-4x+35. We want to find out how long it will take for the temperature to reach -1 degrees, so we plug -1 in for y (temperature) to get -1=-4x+35. Subtracting 35 from both sides using the subtraction property of equality, we get -36=-4x. Next, we divide both sides by -4 to get 9=x=how many hours it will take to reach -1 degrees

Norma had 3/8 left over from her party .She ate 3/4 of the leftover cake at lunch how much of the cake did Norma have at lunch
sergejj [24]

Answer:

Norma ate \frac{9}{32} of the leftover cake at her lunch.

Step-by-step explanation:

Norma had a leftover cake from her party = \frac{3}{8}

She ate \frac{3}{4}th of the leftover cake at the lunch.

Therefore, amount of cake she had at lunch = \frac{3}{8}\times \frac{3}{4}

                                                                          = \frac{9}{32} of the leftover cake

Norma ate \frac{9}{32} of the leftover cake at her lunch.

Mrs. Poster's class is divided into three groups of students. Each group has 3 girls and 2 boys, Which expression could she use
natka813 [3]

Answer:

3 X (2+3)

Step-by-step explanation:

If we have five students (3 girls and 2 boys), and three groups, we can use the expression 3 X (2+3), which concludes three groups times five students (in each group), which will give us our total of 15 students.
