Answer:

t=2s      v(2)=-48feet/s

Explanation:

-16t^2+16t+32=0

(t-2)(t+1)=0

t=2

v(t)=s'(t)=-32t+16

v(2)=s'(2)=-32*2+16=-48

The development of additive manufacturing methods has enlarged rapidly in recent years. Thereby, the work mainly focuses on the realization of mechanical components, but the additive manufacturing technology offers a high potential in the field of optics as well. Owing to new design possibilities, completely new solutions are possible. This article briefly reviews and compares the most important additive manufacturing methods for polymer optics. Additionally, it points out the characteristics of additive manufactured polymer optics. Thereby, surface quality is of crucial importance. In order to improve it, appropriate post-processing steps are necessary (e.g. robot polishing or coating), which will be discussed. An essential part of this paper deals with various additive manufactured optical components and their use, especially in optical systems for shape metrology (e.g. borehole sensor, tilt sensor, freeform surface sensor, fisheye lens). The examples should demonstrate the potentials and limitations of optical components produced by additive manufacturing.

Measuring Optical Component Radiation Damage

SciTech Connect

2017-08-01

Scintillator based detectors are used to monitor beam losses in the Fermilab accelerator complex. These detectors are approximately 500 times faster than traditional ionization chamber loss monitors and can see beam losses 20 nanoseconds apart. These fast loss monitors are used in areas of the accelerator known to be sources of heavy beam loss and as such, are exposed to high doses of radiation. Over time, radiation exposure reduces the ability of optical components to transmit light by darkening the material. The most dramatic effects are seen in the optical cement and light guide materials comprising the detector. We exploremore » this darkening effect by measuring the transmittance spectra of the detector materials for varying irradiation exposures. Presented here, are the optical transmittance spectra for a variety of radiation exposures and optical materials. The data has revealed an epoxy which withstands exposure far better than traditional optical cements.« less

Which of the following is an example of internal attributions? a. Telling your parents that the party lasted longer than you tho
Karolina [17]

Answer:

b. Believing that your irresponsible attitude and your need to always voice your opinion are the reason that your parents have grounded you.

Explanation:

That belief that you are responsible for something when it's not supported by facts, is an internal attribution. Maybe there's another reason why you were grounded, we don't know for sure.

Internal attributions always focuses the explanation or the shift of the responsibility onto ourselves, not any exterior factor.

Answer A and D are putting the responsibility/blame on exterior factors than your own, things that are "out of your control", so these are external attributions.

Which of the following outcomes is most consistent with the pluralist model of democracy?
lana [24]

Answer: d) Federal bureaucrats delay implementation of the new law after it has passed Congress.

Explanation:

The pluralist democracy can be described as a kind of political system where there is more than one center of power. This means that the power is allocated in different hands and authorities. This allows the freedom of association. It may exists without democracy.

The congress has passed the law under its authority but it has to be passed or implemented by the federal bureaucrats as the power is allocated to the different centers under the pluralist model of democracy.

What do scientists measure for forces?
Delicious77 [7]

The scientists need to measure for forces are magnitude and direction.

What is Force?

The force is defined as the external effort applied in the form of push or pull to cause the acceleration of a body.

Mathematically it is expressed as the product of mass and acceleration of an object.

therefore standard expression for the force as per Newton's second law is given as,

F = ma

Here,

m is the mass of the body.

a is the magnitude of the acceleration of the body.

Also, the force is a vector quantity that has significance for its magnitude as well as the direction.

So scientific analysis regarding the force needs its magnitude along with the direction of application.

Thus,The scientists need to measure for forces are magnitude and direction.
