Which of the following best describes African civilizations before 700 CE?
Yuki888 [10]

Answer:

C. They were made up of extended families

Explanation:

The African civilizations, the sub-Saharan ones, were not as developed as the European and Asia societies. This was especially the case before 700 CE, as the Africans was mostly isolated from the other civilizations, and they had much more primitive way of living. The societies were consisted from extended families. There were no large, developed cities, the economies were also very primitive, the trade usually local, and there wasn't even a writing system used by any of the civilizations. This all started to change after the contacts started, which was after 700 CE. It was the Arabs that first started to coming on the African coastline, and later the Chinese did so for a while, and the Europeans, which also conquered pretty much the whole continent later on. The foreign influences and contacts initially resulted in the formation of numerous kingdoms that flourished for while, mostly because of trade. Later in history though, these kingdoms started to weaken because the trade was on the downfall, so they were seen as easy places to conquer and exploit, and it was done so.
