Ponyboy went back to where Johnny was, woke him up, then went to the park.

Enjoy the book, dude! I remember reading this when I was in 7th grade. it's a great story.

Did absalom receive a fair punishment for his crime? why or why not?

It may have been an unfair decision but sadly the judge had to uphold the law and what sealed Absalom’s fate was the fact that he fired the shot that killed the servant even if it was out of fear.  At the very least, the other two should not have absolved and instead should have also been given some kind of sentence because all three of them entered the house and it was clear what their intention was.
