Burris Ewell and his family manage to live outside the local and national laws because they are so poor and ignorant, belonging to the lowest circle of white Maycomb society. The Ewell children only need to come to school for the first day, and then the town will overlook the fact that they are absent, even though schooling is mandatory for all children. Likewise, Mr. Ewell is allowed to hunt out of season because he is known to be an alcoholic who spends his relief money on whiskey - if he can't hunt, his children may not eat. Here we see how the law, which is meant to protect people, can sometimes be harmful if followed too absolutely. Sometimes, it is in everyone's best interests to bend the law in special cases. The town's opinion is that no law will ever force the Ewells to change, because they are set in their "ways". Rather, the law must change to accommodate them and protect the children, who should not have to suffer needlessly.

Hope this helped. :)

5. What time signature is this song in? How do you know?
00:23
03:28
Ivanshal [37]

Answer:

A song with a time signature of 4/4 has four beats in a measure, and is counted like this: 1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4, etc. By far, 4/4 is the most common time signature you'll run into. In fact, 4/4 is so common that it is often called common time.

The time signature is written at the beginning of the staff after the clef and key signature. Time signatures consist of two numbers written like a fraction. The top number of the time signature tells you how many beats to count. This could be any number.

In the early twentieth century, film companies did not usually have specific scores written for each film because?
Gre4nikov [31]

Answer:

(B) The idea wasn't invented until 1935.

Explanation:

The best answer would be (B), since prior to that year, all movies were silent ones. Silent movies are movies without any sound, which started since the late 19th century until they early 20th century.

Though by 1927 movies were already released with sounds, such as the musical The Jazz Singer, none were composed specifically for each movie.

WIth Max Steiner's film score for King Kong, the trend starts, however. King Kong was released in 1933, and after the release more movies had their own film scores. 1935 was also the year when Academy Awards started giving awards for Best Original Film Score.
