De forma experimental, podemos saber si un material es conductor térmico si al colocar una fuente de calor en contacto con el material el calor fluye sin resistencia aparente. Por ejemplo, la madera es un mal conductor térmico porque no deja fluir el calor mientras que el aluminio es un excelente conductor térmico.
