Which excerpt from The People Could Fly reflects the historical fact that enslaved people brought cultural elements of their cou

ntry of origin with them to America?
He raised his arms, holding them out to her. “Kum . . . yali, kum buba tambe,” and more magic words, said so quickly, they sounded like whispers and sighs.
The folks were full of misery, then. Got sick with the up and down of the sea. So they forgot about flyin when they could no longer breathe the sweet scent of Africa.
Say that long ago in Africa, some of the people knew magic. And they would walk up on the air like climbin up on a gate.
The ones that could fly shed their wings. They couldn't take their wings across the water on the slave ships.

How do you think Langley employees reconcile the difference between the work they do that is innovative and advances humankind w
Ket [755]

The correct answer is, Langley employees can reconcile the difference between the work they do that is innovative and advances humankind with the work they do that destroys it, the following way.

In the story of “Hidden Figures”, Katherine Johnson and Dorothy Vaughan try to gain the respect of the men that work at the Langley offices. They can reconcile the positive and negative side of the work they do in recognizing that they create innovations and advancements that benefit humanity but if people in government want to use it to destroy, is a decision out of their hands. They do their work in a responsible and committed way to produce benefits and that is what they focus on.
