FOR: In dire war-times, not enough citizens volunteer to be the crucially needed military personnel, requiring a draft for the safety and success of the nation. AGAINST: However, drafting a country’s young men deprives it of a large portion of its workforce and citizenry, depressing economic, social, and societal growth for years to come.
