I WILL GIVE BRAINLIEST AND ALL MY POINTS THAT ARE LEFT!!!
sweet [91]

Answer:

"Childhood doesn't last forever"

Explanation:

The theme of the story Marigolds is "Childhood doesn't last forever". I decided this was the theme because when she pulls out the marigolds it represents how she is not a child anymore. When she sees her father crying, she realizes that adults fail and feels extreme disappointment. In tormenting Miss Lottie and ripping up what she tried to create, Lizabeth expresses some of her own internalized rage. However, as she looks at Miss Lottie, she suddenly feels ashamed, realizing she has victimized not an "other" or a "witch" but a real human being like herself. Instead of wanting to continue to express wrath at her, she feels compassion for this older woman.

edit:

here is the text evidence:

"The child in me sulked and said it was all in

fun, but the woman in me flinched at the thought of the

malicious attack that I had led. " "I had indeed lost my mind, for all the

smoldering emotions of that summer swelled in me

and burst—the great need for my mother who was

never there, the hopelessness of our poverty and

degradation, the bewilderment of being neither child

nor woman and yet both at once, the fear unleashed

by my father’s tears. And these feelings combined in

one great impulse toward destruction." " The years have put words to the things I knew in that moment, and as I look back upon it, I

know that that moment marked the end of innocence."

hope this helps :)

1.There was nobody with my brother when the accident happened. (own) My brother ............. when the accident happened. 2. I r
valina [46]

After reading the sentences, we can tell we are supposed to use the words in parentheses to form phrases that will complete the blank spaces. We can do it in the following manner:

 1. My brother was on his own when the accident happened.
 2. I gave up on reading the book after the first three chapter because it was so boring.
 3. The heat made it impossible for me to get on with my work.

This question requires knowledge about collocations.

What are collocations?

 • Collocations are words that are often used together in order to convey meaning. Their joint usage is so common that we say they sound good and natural together.
 • Let's use number 1 above as an example. We must use the word "own" to fill in the blank. We also know that we should say something implying that the brother was alone.
 • The best option is to say he was on his own when the accident happened. "To be on one's own" means to be alone, and it is a common phrase (collocation) to use and express such meaning.

Can someone please help me with this!
OLEGan [10]

Answer:

Explanation:

- Yes, it is important to have literacy in order for a population to become successful. It provides an easier method of sharing of knowledge between individuals.

- A lack of literacy can cause difficulties sharing knowledge throughout a population, leading to confusion and lack of understanding between each other.

- Some techniques to create a literate society is the schooling and teaching of how to read and write.

- I'm not quite sure how a 'distraction' could keep a society illiterate.

Hope this helps.
