A. yes...it is a function because there is no repeating x values.
B. (5,2)(6,5)...slope = (5 - 2) / (6 - 5) = 3
y = mx + b
slope(m) = 3
(5,2)...x = 5 and y = 2
now we sub
2 = 3(5) + b
2 = 15 + b
2 - 15 = b
-13 = b
so the equation is : y = 3x - 13
when x = 7
y = 3(7) - 13....y = 21 - 13....y = 8

f(x) = 2x + 13...when x = 7
f(7) = 2(7) + 13...f(7) = 14 + 13.....f(7) = 27

the function has a greater value

C. f(x) = 2x + 13....when f(x) = 75
75 = 2x + 13
75 - 13 = 2x
62 = 2x
62/2 = x
31 = x

Select the answer choices that show two fractions that are equal. (Select two)..
Kruka [31]

Problem 1

Answers: Choice A, choice D

The formula you use is

a & c/d = (a*d+c)/d

To convert from mixed number form to improper fraction form.

So,

6 & 2/3 = (6*3+2)/3 = (18+2)/3 = 20/3

And also,

8 & 1/5 = (8*5+1)/5 = (40+1)/5 = 41/5

Problem 2

Answer: Reflection

Think of how mirrors cause a reflection and this should help you remember the term better. If we reflect point A over some line L, to get point A', then the distance from A to L is the same from A' to L also.

The width of a rectangle is 12 units. Can the perimeter P of the rectangle be 60 units when its length x is 18 units?
andrezito [222]

No, the rectangle cannot have x = 60 and y = 18 because x + y is less than 60

No, the rectangle cannot have x = 60 and y = 18 because x + y is less than 24

Yes, the rectangle can have x = 60 and y = 18 because x = 12 + 2y

Abby ran 2 1/3 miles. Miguel ran 1 1/2 times as far as Abbey did. how many miles did Miguel run?
Stells [14]
Miguel's 1 1/2 times can be written out as 1.5 because 1/2 is equal to 0.5,
To work out the distance you need to times Abby's miles by 1.5. Another way of doing this is by dividing Abby's miles by 2, working out the 0.5, and then adding her original miles, adding on the 1 to make 1.5.

2 1/3 / 2 = 1 1/6
1 1/6 + 2 1/3 = 3 3/6 = 3.5 miles

Hope this helps! :)
