Answer:

She feels partially responsible for John's affair because she feels she wasn't worthy of his love.

Explanation:

The given question refers to The Crucible, a play written by Arthur Miller. In this play, Miller dramatized and fictionalized the story of the Salem witch trials that took place in the Massachusetts Bay Colony during 1692 and 1693.

The given quote is from the fourth act of the play. John Proctor stands accused of practicing witchcraft, compromised by his relationship with Abigail, with whom he had an affair. His wife, Elizabeth, is sharing her true feelings with him about the affair. Because of it, their relationship grew cold, but here, she confesses that she feels partially responsible for it. Their relationship wasn't filled with any passion, and she realizes why he sought passion outside of it. She feels unworthy of his love, describing her detachment from her husband as keeping a cold house.

This is why the last option is the correct one.

Answer:

Number 1. Phrase

Number 2. Clause

Explanation:

A phrase is any collection of words that behaves like a part of speech, like a noun phrase (“my brother Stu”), an adjectival phrase (“in a different shade of blue”), or an adverbial phrase (“with elegance and tact”). A clause is any noun phrase plus a verb; they can be sentences, but they don't always have to be.

worty [1.4K]

Before Thoreau was put to prison he was in protest against slavery and because of that he refused to pay taxes. He argued on the unjust government his country had. He was even thinking of an aggressive war but he doubted the government’s reform by simply petitioning for change.

please help!! ok so I need 2 body paragraph about taking the law into your own hands my teacher didn't explain it to me and once
Dvinal [7]
I'm not going to write your essay for you, but you should research "vigilantism." Vigilantism is taking justice into your own hands. To put it simply, think critically about someone like Spiderman. He dished out punishments, but was he a law enforcement officer? No! He took the law into his own hands and is considered a vigilante. What he does is called "vigilante justice." To some, that isn't the best form of justice. Truly, someone who commits a crime deserves to go to jail, not just get beaten up.
Think also about crime shows you've watched, if you have. Have you seen an episode where someone wanted to bodily harm their kidnapper, rapist, or family's killer? They wanted to act in vigilantism, taking the law into their own hands to enact vengeance.
