um animal que está com a espécie extinta é a tartaruga gigante de galápagos, ela é uma espécie de tartaruga da família testudinidae, e era muito presente em galápagos no equador, ela era a maior espécie de tartaruga já existente, e podia chegar a 400kg, elas são herbívoras e se alimentam de plantas, flores, cactos e líquens, desde o descobrimento dessa espécie elas passaram a ser caçadas, principalmente por marinheiros, e antigamente existiam cerca de 150 mil tartarugas dessa espécie, mas atualmente o número caiu drasticamente e 4 espécies foram extintas, um jeito de ajudá-las é ajudando o parque nacional galápagos e o centro de pesquisas charles dawin, graças a eles todas elas tem a chance de prosperar novamente.
