How does mountainous terrain affect settlements in a region
Naily [24]

Humans have inhabited mountains. Obviously, the terrain presents poor infrastructure and limited access to agriculture. Humans there cannot freely travel due to poor terrain or adverse weather, so they cannot trade frequently nor travel from settlement to settlement. However, they still manage to do trade since they will need items like food and stuff they cannot produce in the mountains so they are not isolated. So the best answer is 1 groups develop their own cultures and traditions.

For a named river you have studied, explain the causes of flooding.
Marta_Voda [28]

Answer:

Severe flooding is caused by atmospheric conditions that lead to heavy rain or the rapid melting of snow and ice. Geography can also make an area more likely to flood. For example, areas near rivers and cities are often at risk for flash floods. A flood is an overflow of water onto land that is normally dry. River flooding can happen when there is debris in the river or dams that block the flow of the water. Speaking of dams, broken dams are another cause of flooding. Older infrastructure can fail when heavy rains come and water levels rise.

A few scientists say global warming is largely due to a natural cycle. What is some evidence of the natural cycle?
Aleks04 [339]

Answer:

Scientists say global warming is largely due to a natural cycle it is evident from the fact that humans once settled in areas now covered by glaciers.

Explanation:

 • It is seen on the geological timescale that the Earth has had five major ice ages that occurred as a result of tremendous changes in the climate from time to time.
 • It is now believed that another ice age is due and the climate change that we are getting to experience is an indication that the ice age about to occur soon.
 • Thus, a few scientists sat that global warming is largely due to a natural cycle.
