City states like Athens were one of the first society's to use direct democracy and allowing universal male suffrage (All men can vote). Women were not able to take part in political voicing but rather used for bearing children and taking care of them. Slavery was used im ancient Greece and despite being male, slaves were not considered citizens, therefore cannot vote. Greece also had well known philosophers like Pluto, Aristotle, Socrates, etc. Their traditions and culture became widely known with their Polytheism religion. The Romans took heavy inspiration off of Greek culture.
Ancient Greece was also home to the Olympic Games. During the time new styles of architecture were used to shape the looks of buildings. Lastly, Ancient Greeks were one of the earliest adopters of practicing medicine.
