Communication is the process by which two or more people exchange information or messages between them, in order to establish a link that transmits the meaning of said expressions.

Thus, the fundamental characteristic of communication is the exchange of ideas between two or more subjects. Therefore, it is required that, for this exchange to be effective, the communication medium is fluid, that is, it allows a rapid exchange of messages between the sender and the receiver.

For this reason, text messages, which do not provide the possibility of an immediate response, can be ineffective in case of requiring a quick response communication, since they put a limit on the speed of response, which does not happen in a telephone call or, obviously, in a personal conversation. Instead, text messages are effective when information is exchanged that does not require an immediate response.
