With Christmas just around the corner, you've probably been busy preparing your house for the upcoming festivities. Cook up some holiday appetizers for your upcoming Christmas party? Check. Trim the tree, hang the stockings, and wrap garlands around the staircase? Check! Find and wrap a few gifts for Mom, your husband, your best friend, and of course! your kids? Check, check, and check!

But you know as well as we do that the most wonderful parts of Christmas the traditions you and your family have cherished for year, can't be wrapped up with a pretty bow. Here, we're talking specifically about Christmas poems for kids! If you're trying to impress the value of this special holiday upon your children, there's no better way to do so than with a few meaningful words. (Bonus points if they rhyme, and double bonus points if they're funny or involve reindeer food!)

We've done all the work so you don't have to, combing through all the best Christmas poems for children out there and finding the ones that will resonate with the younger set. From Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's timeless words about "peace on Earth," to Shel Silverstein's hilarious (but equally enduring) "Snowball" poem, there's something here for just about every kid. Who knows? You might even get a few inspired ideas for this year's Christmas card!

Of course, if you're having trouble getting them to sit down and listen, you can always accompany your recitation with a few holiday cookies, too!
