Wow! You now know so much about Mexico! Your friend Jordan, however, knows nothing about it. In a few months, his family is goin

g on a tour of Spanish speaking-countries, including Spain and several Central and South American countries. He has asked you to help him learn more about those places before his trip. His first trip is to Mexico.
Write Jordan a three-paragraph letter in English, and compare Mexican culture and American culture, especially in terms of foods, sports, transportation, population, and demographics. How is your culture similar to Mexican culture? How is it different? Use a lot of details from what you have learned to help Jordan prepare for the trip, and have fun!

Before you write, take notes on these questions to help you think of what to tell Jordan.

1) What are the five most interesting things you have learned about Mexico?

1.

2.

3.

4.

5.

2) What are three aspects of Mexican culture that are similar to the United States?

1.

2.

3.

3) What are three aspects of Mexican culture that are different from the United States?

1.

2.

3.

Now, here is a guide for your letter. You don't have to follow this pattern exactly, but feel free to use it if it's helpful.

Hey Jordan,

It's cool that you get to visit Mexico. Here are some interesting things about Mexico. (Now describe some of these things.)

Now, here is a guide for your letter. You don't have to follow this pattern exactly, but feel free to use it if it's helpful.

Hey Jordan,

It's cool that you get to visit Mexico. Here are some interesting things about Mexico. Mexico is sinking like is sinking reach at a rate of about 10 inches a year as the city pumps draw water from the lake that supports it. Another thing that I've learn it that kids in Christmas don't get presents on December 25th, they het it on January 6th since is when the three wise men's gave gift to Jesus, so if Jesus gets his presents, they can get there presents too. Mexico is the home from the was the first place in all of North America to use the printing press. You can even visit the house it was used in. Tamales are a popular food in mexico they make a 3-foot long, 150 pound tamale that takes a village to make. The Cuexcomate Volcano sits just outside the city of Puebla and stands a cute 43 feet tall. Compared to Mauna Loa in Hawaii which stands 13,678 feet tall, this volcano is barely a hill. In fact, Cuexcomate isn’t even half the height of the Statue of Liberty.

Some things in Mexico are very different from the United States. For example, (describe a few differences)

In mexico, Mexican moms and grandmas rule the country. Really, it's not the president, it's moms. USA you're expected to leave your parent's house at 18. Not here. People leave when they get married. Maybe for a job that's far away. Catholicism is still the main religion. You're expected to behave a certain way and things that defy that norm will be frowned upon or treated. Americans seem to be…easily offended. We laugh at everything and everyone. they laugh at our family, our president, the Pope, the gays, women, men, death. They laugh at themselves constantly. As regards Mexican culture and country, there might be a lot of things to take into account. For example, they have a wide variety of food that are worth to try. Such as tacos, fajitas and burritos. then, you can have some typical drinks like Margaritas. Mariachis are the most traditionally singers and musician. They can sing you serenades in the street.

Some things in Mexico are a lot like the United States. For example, (describe a few similarities)

Religion- Most Mexicans are are Christians and most of them follow religious rites such as baptism, wedding and funerals.

Universal Values- Most Mexicans believe on human rights, and Mexico is signatory to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Political affiliation- As well as most Americans Mexican people tend to side between two large groups: conservatives and liberals, with ideologies such as pro-life vs. pro-choice or the role of women between as staying at home vs. becoming independent.

Have a great trip! Bring me back a souvenir!
