(Im not very sure about tradional animation) but cel animation is quite expensive and has a lengthy process that requires a large team on animaters and producers. To prove this point of animation costing quite a bit ill put down an example
(ex. The Simpsons is one of the most loved cartoon in america and used cel animation, The Simpsons team is large and had a lot of focus on the show. It cost them around $3.07 Billion dollars to make but was succesful in its first cycle making $3.95 Billion dollars)
