Consider the function f(x)=3/4x+12 what is the y-intercept of f-1(x)
miskamm [114]

Answer:

y = -16

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x)=3/4x+12 (replace f(x) with y)

y =3/4x+12 (rearrange to express x in terms of y)

y - 12=3/4 x

3/4 x = y - 12

3x = 4(y - 12)

x = (4/3)(y - 12)

x = (4/3)y - (4/3)(12)

x = (4/3)y - 16

f^{-1} (y) = (4/3)y - 16

f^{-1} (x) = (4/3)x - 16

comparing to general form

y = mx + b where b is the y-intercept

b = -16

Hence the y-intercept is y = -16

Determine whether the relation shown in the table is a direct variation, and inverse, or neither.
Grace [21]
The table of values has an inverse relationship. An inverse relationship is a relationship in which changes in one set of values causes changes in another set of values in the other direction. Simply saying, if a set of values (x) increases, another set of values (y) decreases.

Tomas has a garden with a length of 2.45 meters and a width of 5/8 meters. Use benchmarks to estimate the area and perimeter of
Alchen [17]

Answer: The area is 1 1/4. The perimeter is 6.

Step-by-step explanation: 2.45 is about 2.5. 5/8 is about 1/2. To find the area we need to multiply length times width. 2.5 is 2 and 1/2 which is 5/2. 5/2 times 1/2 is 5/4. To simplify it divide 5 by 4 which is 1 with remainder 1. 5/4 is 1 1/4. Therefore the area is 1 1/4 meters squared. To find the perimeter we have to add length + length + width + width. . 2.5 is the same thing as 2 1/2. 5/8 is about 1/2 if we use benchmarks. 2 1/2 + 2 1/2 + + 1/2 + 1/2 is 6. The perimeter is 6.

2. A center-seeking force related to acceleration is _______ force.
steposvetlana [31]
We want to know what force is always pointed towards the center. In order for the motion to be circular, a force must act constantly towards the center of the curvature of the path. It's name comes from Latin: "centrum" is center and "petere", to seek. So we get centripetal force.
