In other words, when a child makes a mistake, the father has to face the consequences. This term is often used to explain when an employer is responsible for the acts of his employees.

In addition, this concept was applied to slaves when they couldn't pay, in that case, the owner assumed responsibilities. Later, this concept was applied to family members or even animals, if a dog does some damage to a property, its owner is responsible for that.
