2. The writer, Ovid, chose that image to show that Midas was greedy and was never satisfied with the treasures he already had. That contributes to the point that Ovid is trying to make in his story because it shows that if one is too greedy, they will eventually lose something important to them.

3. At the end of the story, Bacchus has Midas give a reason for him to show him mercy. He does this to make sure that Midas truly understands that what he did was selfish and that he'd be less greedy in the future.

Why is size an important feature of a population?
klasskru [66]
Population size is closely linked to its rate of change. If the population is below the threshold for the resources available, it will increase in size ... The more distance between the actual size and the threshold, the greater the rate of increase. If the population is above its threshold, it will start to decrease in size. The threshold will be the equilibrium position so it will tend to wave up and down until it gets to the equilibrium. The reason real life populations don't do this is because the resources are changing all the time so the equilibrium is a moving target.

AveGali [126]

The assignment wants to know the personal view on a social issue and its analysis based on social science strands. As this question is partially personal, I cannot answer it, but I will show you how to do it.

Strands of social theory and their meanings

 • Conflict theory: Social conflicts are caused by the division of society into upper and lower classes.
 • Functionalism: The breakdown of society is caused by the failure of institutions to perform their specific functions.
 • Symbolic interactionist: The individual behavior of human beings is created from the quality of social interactions.

Using these strands, you should analyze the problems and issues in any social area you know and show how one of these strands explains the existence of that problem or issue.
