Click to read "I Am Offering this Poem," by Jimmy Santiago Baca. Then
Misha Larkins [42]

Answer:

The speaker is concerned that the subject of the poem will become lost during her life is the correct answer.

Explanation:

Jimmy Santiago Baca was born in 1952 in Santa Fe. According to Poetry Foundation, "of Chicano and Apache descent". In the mentioned poem, I am offering this poem, the speaker creates a world around the poem, the only possession he has to offer the subject. In the second stanza, he does talk about warmth provided to the object, but it is not the stanza mentioned in the question. In general, the idea of the whole poem could be resumed in letter D statement. Even though it looks like that at the very beginning of the third stanza, the speaker doesn't provide directions to travel through the wilderness. In this stanza, the speaker is concerned that the subject will become lost during her life, and also mentions he would always be with the object.

Think about a current Stuck-Point in your life. What can you do right now to get un-stuck? Complete the following statements to
Tresset [83]
Right now I am stuck with not being able to make significant money because I haven't heard from my client for about 2 1/2 weeks ie no communication so consequently have not been paid and have no new work. A new way to think about it is, "no hay mal que bien no venga" which means there is not a bad thing that something good does not come of it. In my case, it has given me the time to work on my historical book which is at the publisher's and which needs my attention.I can seek help by talking to the internet agency that my client uses and have them try to call him. If he no longer has work, then I can bid on new contracts that come up as ones are always coming up.

Drag each tile to the correct box.
777dan777 [17]

Answer:

The correct answers are:

marked - considerable

unseared - pure, uncorrupted

Explanation:

The most interesting feature of my history here was my learning to read and write, under somewhat marked (considerable) disadvantages.

Words like these, I observed, always troubled them; and I had no small satisfaction in wringing from the boys, occasionally, that fresh and bitter condemnation of slavery, that springs from nature, unseared (pure, uncorrupted) and unperverted.

In his stories, Frederick Douglas tries to describe the cruelty of slavery and all the problems that the black people could face because of his/her skin color. In order to achieve that, he uses a strong and authentic vocabulary where some words can be replaced with other words that most closely match the denotation of the words.

In our excerpts, the word marked can be replaced with considerable, while the word unseared can be replaced with pure or uncorrupted.
