Answer:American conservatives have a line of thinking along the lines that anything the private sector does, the government will automatically make worse

It is very simple. Others have already said: a private healthcare system is never interested in the health of people, it is interested in the profit they can make. From this point of view it is much better business to insure those who are least likely to get sick and elevate costs for those who are likely to get sick.

It's the government's job to make sure it's citizens are well. With the market taking care of it, the more money you have, the better healthcare you get. It should never be this way. No one should have worse healthcare because of their occupation or lack thereof. This is now not only a class issue but as most cases in the US, a race one as well.
