Jon took his kayak out for a paddle on the river. As he was exploring a quiet cove, a giant snapping turtle suddenly heaved out
of the water right beside him. As he paddled to avoid colliding with the turtle, he heard a speed boat coming up behind him. He then frantically paddled in the
other direction to get away from the boat. At the last minute, the speed boat changed course, and Jon breathed a sigh of relief. When he got home
that night, he told his friend about the incident and remarked, "I felt as if I was between Scylla and Charybdis.
What does the allusion to Scylla and Charybdis suggest about jon?
01. He felt as if someone was watching him make a fool of himself,
0 2. He was confronted with two equally unpleasant options,
3. He felt as though he had fallen asleep and was having a nightmare
04. He was trying to have a good time, but he was not really enjoying himself
I choose two because look at the meaning of Scylla and Charybdis
"In classical mythology, Scylla was a horrible six-headed monster who lived on a rock on one side of a narrow strait. Charybdis was a whirlpool on the other side. When ships passed close to Scylla's rock in order to avoid Charybdis, she would seize and devour their sailors."
Both of her poetry works describe the political ideologies through the power of the verses that she has written. The poems reflect on the strong issues that occurred during that time; one of the issues was Women's rights. She believed in that peace and diversity will reign over all the issues one day.
