Throughout history and until relatively recently, people were often culturally isolated from the region in which they are parts of the world or even the whole world. With the innovations made in communication tehcnology though this all changed. Suddenly, people had the means to be able to communicate over a large distance, which soon turned into communication with people from all over the world.

The newest technological advancements have led people to be able to chat, see each other, share videos, pictures, ideas, from all over the world, and this has led to spreading of the pop culture. Most of the cultures of the world came of cultural isolation in a very short period of time, but it has had a negative effect as many native cultures have experienced a sharp decline. It has to be mentioned though that there are some cultures that are still isolated and the reasons for this are of political nature, with the best example being North Korea.
