1. 2. No because the man was just doing it because he was starving and needed food before he died so he was willing to do anything. At the end he ended up not even getting any money for food because he was tricked and lied too. Most likely he blames the narrator because he lies to him and tricks him. The narrator does it out of selfishness because he has learned his way around things because of how long he’s been on the streets.
