Well actually "The Yellow Wallpaper" was centered around the idea of a woman's position in a marriage and her best practices during that time period. It was about the domestic functions of the wife i.e. produce an heir, clean the home, raise the children, cook dinner etc. The author basically wrote about the lack of psychological development for women kept in this state producing an almost childlike affect on their brains making them seem "ignorant" or "sick" or "insane"
