In literature, the conflict refers to a struggle by the characters of the story as there is an opposing force that stops them from achieving their goals or that is against them. Additionally, there are multiple types of conflicts as the main character or characters can struggle again natural forces, society, other characters or themselves. In the case of person vs society, it refers to the conflict in which one character fights against society, this implies society might not agree with the actions or personality of the character, might do actions against this character or stop the character to achieve his dreams. In the case of "Poor fish" excerpt the character explains there is nothing he/she can't do to change the way people see or think about him/her, this implies the character is fighting against a wide group of people or society, which means the struggle of the character can be classified as a Person vs Society conflict.
