Which of the following occur during elections? Select all that apply.
fenix001 [56]
1. Yes, there are two Senators for each state, and the number of Representatives for the House depend on a state's population. So larger states like Texas and California would have more representatives than a state like Connecticut.
2. The senate does have fifty states because there are 50 states in the US, and every state has two senators. The House of Reps. have an amount of members based off population of each state, so it can be even or not be even, but it's good that its based off population, so everyone in the state (or at least should) have their voices heard.
3. The electoral college is important because it determines who wins the presidency for the every four year presidential election.
4. It's actually 538 electoral college votes (the candidate has to get a majority of 270 to win) that is based off of each state's total number of congressional delegation (1 for each member of the House of reps and plus two for the senators).
5. California is the most powerful state during the presidential election because they have a total number of 55 electoral college votes due to it's extremely large population (it also has some of the world's most populated cities)
