The first emperor was Kao tsu (618-626 CE), afterwards, his son, General Li Shih-min murdered his brothers and forced his father, previous emperor to abdicate the thrown to his son. He preferred his name Tai-tsung, which was his temple name. His plans succeeded and Tai-tsung started his ruling in 626 C.E.
