Reasons why many leaners perform well in grade 12 but are still not accepted into universities

English

Answer:

Every university can only accept so many of those who apply. Most of those applying have the same qualifications but some have something more. They will obviously be the ones chosen first, then they will look for anything that will make the others stand out from the group. Finaly they will fill the list from. Those who are equally qualified by whatever criteria they choose.

Say the school will be able to take 100 new students. The first choices number 15. Then the next rank will add 25. That leaves 60 places to be filled by whatever criteria they choose from those who on paper are equally qualified. The choice of those 60 can be any one they choose with no preference stated. Then every other applicant will either be told they are on a list if any of the above drop out they will take that spot or told they are not accepted. Those who do not make either list will have to apply elsewhere.

"Through tatter'd clothes small vices do appear:
maw [93]

Answer:

Justice is not served to the wealthy the same way it is to the poor.

Explanation:

The quote we are studying here is an excerpt from "King Lear", by Shakespeare. It is exposing the different treatment given to rich and poor when it comes to justice. According to this quote, the rich get away with anything, never truly having to own up to their crimes, vices, or mistakes. The lance of justice breaks when it tries to pierce their fancy robes. In other words, money can buy impunity. On the other hand, the poor are easily punished, maybe even more than they truly deserve. A straw can pierce their rags. No matter how small their crime, they are surely going to pay for it with much more suffering than that crime really called for.

What does “modulate your voice” mean?
bonufazy [111]
The right answer here would be A - the phrase 'modulate your voice' refers to a need to vary your voice's properties. Modulating means changing the pitch or tone, and can be used referring to one's voice, or to an instrument. You can modulate both up or down, and this usually involves changing the key signature in which you are playing or singing.
