Which of the following is the best
Nimfa-mama [501]

Answer:

B

Explanation:

I say B because if you are the one writing a persuasive essay you should use facts to back up your own thoughts not anyone else's. Another reason you should pick B is because how many times have you wrote a persuasive essay without any factual evidence, that would be just your opinion if you have.

Highlight all instances of parallel structure. There is no longer any room for hope. If we wish to be free—if we mean to preserv
Marat540 [252]

"If we wish to be free-if we mean to preserve", "if we mean not basely to abandon" AND "which we have been so long contending", "which we have been so long engaged", "which we have pledged".

Parallelism is the repetition of the same grammatical structure. There are two instances of parallel structure in this excerpt. The first is the "If we ___ to ___" structure. The second is the "which we have _______" structure. By filling the passage with this parallel structure is gives the sense of a list of reasons that all, compounding on top of one another, logically lead to the need to fight. The change from the parallel structures in the last line "we must fight!" makes this exclamation stand out and hold power.

Tell me which highlighted sentence is independent
Naddika [18.5K]

Answer:

"Today's medical students owe a debt to Dr. Henry Gray"

Explanation:

An independent clause is a part of a sentence that can stand alone and still be a complete sentence. A complete sentence has a subject and a verb.

In the problem, the independent clause is "Today's medical students owe a debt to Dr. Henry Gray". This is because we can take this section of the sentence out of the original and it can still make sense by itself since it has the subject ("students") and the verb ("owe").

The other part of the sentence is a dependent clause because it cannot stand alone: while it does have a verb "is", it does not have a main subject to go with that verb.

Hope this helps!
