Answer:

There 30 - 40 students altogether

There are 20 girls.

There are 10 - 20 boys.

Therefore if each boy brings 15 chocolate bars, there are between 150 and 300 chocolate bars, and

the number of chocolate bars is a multiple of 15.

The chocolate bars are shared among 21 people (the girls

and the teacher).

Therefore the number of bars is also a multiple of 21.

Therefore the number of chocolate bars is a multiple of the

least common multiple of 15 and 21 which is 105. So there

are 105k chocolate bars for some positive integer k, and since

the number of chocolate bars is between 150 and 300,

150 ≦ 105k ≦ 300

Divide all three parts by 105

1.428571429 ≦ k ≦ 2.857142857

So 2 ≦ k ≦ 2

Therefore k = 2

Therefore, there are 105k = 105(2) = 210 chocolate bars.

Since every boy brought 15, there are 210÷15 = 14 boys

Since there are 20 girls and 14 boys, there are

20+14 = 34 students in the class.

Since every girl and the teacher shared the 210 chocolate bars,

every girl and the form teacher received 210÷21 = 10 chocolate

bars.

Solution: 34 students in the class. The form teacher received

10 chocolate bars.

Answer:

  34

Step-by-step explanation:

In order to divide some multiple of 15 chocolate bars evenly by 21, the number of bars must be a multiple of the LCM of 15 and 21, which is 105. That number is 7 times 15, indicating the number of boys in the class must be a multiple of 7. The only number between 30-20 = 10 and 40-20 = 20 that is a multiple of 7 is 14.

There must be 14 boys in the class, so 34 students in total.

__

The boys brought a total of 210 chocolate bars, so each girl and the teacher received 10 of them.

1. Is (0,9) a solution?<br> y = -3x + 5
irinina [24]

Answer:

no

Step-by-step explanation:

to determine if (0, 9 ) is a solution substitute x = 0 into the equation and if the result is 9 then it is a solution

y = - 3(0) + 5 = 0 + 5 = 5 ≠ 9

then (0, 9 ) is not a solution to the equation

12 people are entered in a race. if there are no ties, in how many ways can the first three places come out.
prisoha [69]

Answer:

1320

Step-by-step explanation:

This is a simple permutation.

Since you start with 12 people and there are 3 winners, after every winner the number pf people available to win decrease.

First, there are 12 people, then after the first win there are 11 people, and after the 2nd win, for the third win the there are 10 people.

Thus, to find the total number of combinations, you multiply:

12*11*10=1320

Thus, there are 1320 possible combinations

Jeff sold half of his baseball cards rhen bought 16 more.now he has 21 baseball cards. How many cards did he begin with?
miv72 [106K]

Answer:

he started with 10

Step-by-step explanation:

so if he sold half, that means he still has half..

let c represent the total cards

1/2c + 16 = 21

1/2c = 21 - 16

1/2c = 5

c = 5 * 2

c = 10 <====

A bank loaned out $37,500, part of it at the rate of 11% annual interest, and the rest at 9% annual interest. The total interest
kondaur [170]

Answer:

The Loan amount at 11 % interest rate is $ 18,500   And

The Loan amount at 9 % interest rate is $ 19,000

Step-by-step explanation:

Given as :

Let The loan given at interest rate of 11 % annual  = $ x

And The loan given at interest rate of 9 % annual = ($37,500 - $ x)

Total interest fro both loan = $3745

I.e  CI 1 + CI 2 = $3745

Now, From compound interest method :

Amount= Principal\times (1 + \frac{Rate}{100})^{Time}

A 1 = $ 1\times (1 + \frac{11}{100})^{1}

Or,  A 1 = $ 1.11 x

<u>Similarly</u>

A 2 = ($37,500 -x ) \times (1 + \frac{9}{100})^{1}

Or, A 2 = 1.09 × ($37,500 - $ x)

∵  Compound Interest = Amount - principal

Or, $ 3745 = CI 1 + CI 2

Or,  $ 3745 = ($ 1.11 x - $ x) + ( 1.09 × ($37,500 - $ x) -  ($37,500 - $ x) )

Or,  $ 3745 = $ .11 x+  ($37,500 - $ x) ( .09 )

Or,  $ 3745 = $ .02 x + $ 3375

or,  0.02 x =  $ 3745 - $ 3375

∴   x = $ \frac{370}{.02}

SO,  x = $ 18,500

And $ 37500 - x = $ 19,000

Hence The Loan amount at 11 % interest rate is $ 18,500   And

           The Loan amount at 9 % interest rate is $ 19,000   Answer
