Answer:

Romain : Est-ce que tu vas regarder le match de foot demain?

Isabelle: Oui je <em>suis</em> en train d'acheter le billet en ligne.

Explanation:

Hi!

This explanation is very detailed, of course at some point you won't have to go through all of these steps but if you're beginning French it can help. Also, I'm still learning English so it's probably not perfect. Please tell me if I made any mistakes :) It's my first answer (probably too long) so I'm kinda nervous.

The first step to finding the right verb form is identifying the person and (eventually) the time.

You have to know that, in French, every person has a different verb form so this part is crucial. Here, it is pretty easy because she says "<em>je</em>" before the verb, which means "I".  Then you proceed to find the verb form that goes with this person but you can't do that if you don't know the verb. Maybe you recognized it here (if not, no problem): it's "<em>être", </em>so in English "<em>be"</em>. As it is one of the first verbs you learn in French, you probably know how to conjugate it (well done!) but if you didn't work on it yet or forgot about it (which is okay too don't worry, it's always hard to learn a new language) just look it up in your book or on the internet and try to learn it because it is an auxiliary, so it's used very often. Once you did that, you will see which verb form is used for the first person singular in the present and it's "Je suis".

Summary:

1. Find the time (if you just began learning, you will only know present so    don't worry about it)

2. Find the person

3. Identify the verb

4. Conjugate that verb at right the time and person

If you want to have a little tip on how to know that it was present :

"en train" doesn't really have a concrete translation in English but basically, it makes the difference between "I buy the tickets" and "I am buying<em>". </em>It indicates that what you are doing is happening right now, that you are in the middle of the action.

I hope this helped! Have a good day and work well :)<em> </em>
