She uncovers that she has known up and down that Oedipus is her child, and that she has not been embarrassed about it. ... Jocasta says that she knows from the second she considers him to be a man that Oedipus is her child.
*A kid leads in the visually impaired prophet Tiresias. Oedipus implores him to uncover who Laius' killer is, however Tiresias answers just that he realizes reality yet wishes he didn't. ... At last, when Oedipus angrily blames Tiresias for the homicide, Tiresias reveals to Oedipus that Oedipus himself is the revile.
*It is clear that he wishes to be silent to spare Oedipus from the terrible fate of self-knowledge that he knows would completely destroy him and his family.
