Answer:

"I need to buy a bicycle since I walk three miles to school each day and am often late to class."

Explanation:

This appeals to logic because it uses specific facts that aren't opinion in order to argue a point. It says that you need a bike because you walk three miles each day. That is a number statistic.

"Pleasant memories of canoeing on the river with my beloved dog flooded my mind." This is just your own memories. No facts or logic.

"The captain of the fishing vessel confirmed that I had made the best catch of the day." Well there isn't any way to prove this with logic. This is just what he said. Now if the captain measured all the fish side by side, then that would prove somebody really made the best catch.

"If you want to have the most fun on a bicycle, hybrid trail bikes are the most thrilling to ride." And this is just an opinion. Not everybody would agree hybrid bike trails are thrilling. So this can't be proven and is not logic.

Hope this helps!!!

1. What is the difference between the way Dylan Thomas and Alfred, Lord Tennyson use figurative language to describe death? Writ
andrew-mc [135]
In the poem from Dylan Thomas, ''Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night,'' he is convincing and telling his father to fight away death. In the poem, Dylan wrote, ''dying of the light,'' quoting that he is referring to death. To accompany the situation and description of death he writes, ''Do not go gentle into that goof night.'' Throughout the poem Thomas is convincing the readers to deny death and fight it. The writer uses imagery to paint a vivid picture inside the readers head.
''The Charge Of The Light Brigade'' is a poem by Lord Tennyson, that tells a story to the readers. The story is abut how the Light brigade went to war. The writer uses terrifying description of the war and how the men died: <span> “Shattered and sundered. They rode back, but not, not the six hundred.” When reading the poem you receive a sense of anxiousness as the poem goes on to describe the war.
The Dylan Thomas poem says you should fight death, but Lord Tennyson's poem says you should somewhat accept it.

How does the author of John White and Roanoke develop the idea that establishing a colony at Roanoke was going to be difficult?
Sunny_sXe [5.5K]
In the passages, the author gives a few details that develop the idea that establishing a colony at Roanoke was going to be difficult because of the Native Americans. The author says, "not all relations between the colonists and the Native Americans were friendly." He expands on this when he states, "some Native Americans were still angry about the colonists' presence and threatened to do battle." The Native Americans who did not want the English colony at Roanoke made it difficult to establish a colony.
