The graph shows the volume of oil (L litres) in a tank at time t seconds. a)find the gradient of the graph b)explain what this g
Alisiya [41]

Answer/Step-by-step explanation:

a. Using two points on the line (0, 2) and (4, 12), find the gradient:

Gradient = ∆y/∆x = (12 - 2) / (4 - 0) = 10/4 = 2.5

Gradient = 2.5

b. The gradient, 2.5, represents the unit rate. That is, the volume of the oil in the tank per second.

i.e. 2.5 litres per second

c. The value, L = 2 represents the y-intercept, which is the starting value or initial volume of oil in the tank at 0 secs.

Determine an equation of the tangent line to <br> y = e - 2x<br> at the point (0,1).
Darya [45]

Answer:

y=-2x+1

this is the equation of the tangent line to the curve at the point (0,1)

Step-by-step explanation:

y = e^{-2x}

to find the tangent line we need to find the curve's derivative. using \dfrac{d}{dx}e^{ax} = ae^{ax}, we'll find dy/dx.

\dfrac{dy}{dx} = -2e^{-2x}

^ this is the equation of the slope of the curve. By finding the slope of the curve at (0,1) we'll also be finding the slope of the tangent to the curve at (0,1).

at (0,1) x = 0. we'll use that in dy/dx

\dfrac{dy}{dx} = -2e^{-2(0)}

\dfrac{dy}{dx} = -2(1)

\dfrac{dy}{dx} = -2

this is the slope of the tangent at point (0,1)

we'll use the general equation of the line formula to find the equation of tangent.

(y-y_1)=m(x-x_1)

here m is the slope, i.e. m = -2, and (x1,y1)=(0,1)

(y-1)=-2(x-0)

y=-2x+1

this is the equation of the tangent line at the point (0,1)

topjm [15]

Honestly, I'm not sure how to answer this, but I think this can help you.

Well if 5 and 2 fifths is one third of the total height of the building, then that means to find the total height of the building you need to times 5 2/5 by 3.

(I think F is an answer)

The shape has 11 sides.

Using the angle formula for polygons:

The sum of all the interior angles is:

11-2 x 180 = 9 x 180 = 1,620 degrees.

For one angle divide the total by number of sides:

1620 / 11 = 147.27 which rounds to 147.2

The answer is D.

Find the slope of the line that passes through (6, 8) and (1, 14).
faltersainse [42]

Answer:

-6/5

Step-by-step explanation:

Slope is change in y / change in x

change in y is 8-14 = -6

change in x is = 5
