Greek theater spread to Europe because in their quest to conquer and expand  their territories, the Roman armies brought Greek culture, including theater, with them as they expanded across Europe.

<h3>What is Greek Theater?</h3>

Greek theater refers to the was a theatrical culture that flourished in ancient Greece from 700 BC. Athens, which was at the center of civilization at that time  became a significant cultural, political, and religious center.

Theater was institutionalized in Athens as  a festival called the Dionysia, which honored the god Dionysus.

As the Roman Army expanded and conquered several territories in the world, they brought back Greek theater to Europe after their sojourn to the Mediterranean.
