What is the difference between the perimeter of the bigger<br> rectangle and smaller rectangle?
harina [27]

The difference between the perimeters of the two rectangles will be 4x + 3

The formula for the perimeter of rectangle is given as :

                P = 2(L + B)

Where P = perimeter of the rectangle

L = length of the rectangle

B = breadth of the rectangle

Now we have given two rectangle on is smaller than the other.

To find the difference between the perimeter of the two rectangles. We will first calculate the perimeter of both the rectangle.

Perimeter of the bigger rectangle = 2( 5x + 3 + 2x)

                                                            = 2(7x + 3)

                                                             = 14x + 3

Perimeter of the smaller rectangle = 2(2x + 3x)

                                                              = 2*5x

                                                              =10x

Difference between the two perimeters = (Perimeter of the bigger rectangle) – (Perimeter of the smaller rectangle)

                                                                      = (14x + 3) – 10x

                                                                      = 4x + 3

Thus the difference between the perimeters of the two rectangle will be 4x + 3

Whats 2x(90+2)+10=?
nasty-shy [4]

Hey, there!

Happy to help!

Answer:

220x + 10

Step-by-step explanation:

First, we will distribute the 2x.

2x * 90 = 180x

2x * 2 = 40x

Next, we will add like terms

180x + 40x = 220x

Finally, we will add in the 10. Because 10 isn’t a like term, we leave it as is and don’t combine it.

220x + 10

I hope I helped!

Let me know if you need anything else!
