What factors led to the demise of the Anti-Masonic and Working Men’s political parties?
Drupady [299]

The Working Men's death was caused by their failure in statewide elections, whereas the Anti-Masonic doom resulted from their denunciation of the Order as a covert aristocratic club.

What is Anti-Masonic?

Generally, The first third party in the United States was the Anti-Masonic Party, sometimes referred to as the Anti-Masonic Movement. Initially, a party that only supported Freemasonry, it subsequently sought to grow into a prominent party by diversifying its platform to include other causes.

In February 1828, the Anti-Masonic Party was founded in Upstate New York. Freemasonry was opposed by anti-Masons, who thought it was a hidden, corrupt, and elitist institution that was in control of a large portion of the nation against republican values.

Both the Working Men's Party and the Anti-Masonic Party ultimately failed because they were unable to compete effectively on the state level.

The Working Men's Party was undone by its inability to win statewide elections.
