After Captain Cleveland of Salem claimed to have sailed around the world, single-handedly in 1800, there were many other attempt

s made at solitary ocean crossings. Not all of these attempts were successful. Sailing alone posed many dangers, including the possibility of the boat capsizing, running into harsh weather conditions, and the ever-present danger of the lone sailor falling overboard. In all of these situations, there would be no one to help. Despite the risks, people continued to attempt lone sailing missions.
Bernard Colby was one of those brave sailors. In 1882, he set out from San Francisco aboard a 19-foot schooner that he built himself. Colby worked hard, and with limited resources, to build his own ship. He was at sea for more than one hundred days. Unfortunately, a swordfish pierced the hull of his ship, causing him to fail. He was rescued from the water by a passing fishing boat. He never made another attempt at a lone ocean crossing.

Select the sentence from the article that best shows its text structure.

Read the excerpt from Ernest Hemingway’s “Soldier's Home.” A distaste for everything that had happened to him in the war set in
eimsori [14]

Hemingway conveys double entendre between Krebs's soldier and civilian lives. The excerpt shows the ambiguity or precisely black and white nature of the lives. Krebs cannot do the things in his civil life that he has done in his military life. The author counts the disadvantages of these opportunities of Krebs's civilian life in the given excerpt. In order to escape from this unwanted reality he must become someone else. So that, he must lie and he must leave his formed identity.
