Missouri Compromise- This compromise was helpful because it “divided” the U.S’ non slave, and also slave states. This compromise added Missouri as a slave state, which ended up making there be one more slave state than the north. Later, Maine was added which helped balance the slave/non-slave states.
Maine becoming a state helped balance out the slave/non-slave states. If this hadn’t happened in America, there would have been riots and chaos. I think it helped establish peace between the union.
