Answer:

1. so that they can keep an update on their lives. They are going into high school (which can get hard) and they want to do something together. They don't want to write just nonsense though.

2. I think that its mostly for themselves...most diarys are. Im not sure if they are going to share it with each other though.

3. Its organized by days (i know this because it says the month and the day at the beginning of each entry). and its a year diary.

4. Its pretty formal for a journal but also keep in mind that it was translated as well. it goes between direct and descriptive. It tells about her life and its very thorough

Explanation:

Second Diary: A YOUNG GIRLS DIARY

This diary was written solely for themselves, to keep an update on their lives through high school together. I know this because at the top of the first page it says “Hella and I are writing a diary. We both agreed that when we went to the high school, we would write a diary every day”

I don’t think Hella and Rita wrote their diaries with any intent of anyone ever reading them other than the small possibility of each other. I believe this because, Rita wrote “Dora keeps a diary too, but she gets furious if I look at it”

This diary is also written in chronological order, the events are written in order of when they happened. I can tell because like Scott, “Rita” wrote down at the beginning of each entry the date, allowing the reader to understand when each event occurred. Also showing us that the diary is written in chronological order.

The style of this diary is informal, she’s just casually writing what goes on day to day in her life. Although the style is informal it is very detailed. Rita adds specific thoughts, actions, and even direct quotes from friends. There are a few different words or ways I would describe Rita’s diary, such as casual, she seems to just be writing for fun.
