Answer:

(12,0), (3,-1), and (0,-4/3)

Step-by-step explanation:

Just replace x and y in the equation with the coordinates.

12-9(0)=12

solve to see if it is true. First solve 9(0) which is 0. Which leaves us with 12-0=12 and this is true because it fits.

Now with (3,-1)

3-9(-1)=12

Solve to see if true. First solve 9(-1) which is -9. this leaves us with 3-(-9)=12

3-(-9) does equal 12 so this one is true as well.

Same thing with (0,-4/3)

Answer:

(12, 0) & (3, -1) & (0, -3/4)

Step-by-step explanation:

x - 9y = 12

Plug in the point and solve:

12 - 9(0) = 12

12 = 12

3 - 9(-1) = 12

3 + 9 = 12

12 = 12

0 - 9(-3/4) = 12

12 = 12

A. False - 7/2 is more than 5/2 and the number line gets bigger as it goes up so 7/2 is above 5/2

B. True - the numbers get bigger as they go down on the negative side of the number line so -1 1/4 is above -1 3/4

C. and D are both False because the positive numbers are above the negative numbers

Hope that helps

Describe the graph of a system of equations that has no solution.
Thepotemich [5.8K]

The solution for a system of equations is the value or values that are true for all equations in the system. The graphs of equations within a system can tell you how many solutions exist for that system. Look at the images below. Each shows two lines that make up a system of equations.

One SolutionNo SolutionsInfinite SolutionsIf the graphs of the equations intersect, then there is one solution that is true for both equations. If the graphs of the equations do not intersect (for example, if they are parallel), then there are no solutions that are true for both equations.If the graphs of the equations are the same, then there are an infinite number of solutions that are true for both equations.

When the lines intersect, the point of intersection is the only point that the two graphs have in common. So the coordinates of that point are the solution for the two variables used in the equations. When the lines are parallel, there are no solutions, and sometimes the two equations will graph as the same line, in which case we have an infinite number of solutions.

Some special terms are sometimes used to describe these kinds of systems.
