Identify the type of historical source based on the information provided

Historical sources are, at their most basic level, something that tells us about history. It may be a document, a picture, a sound recording, a book, a cinema film, a television program or an object. Any sort of artifact from the period in question that conveys information can qualify as a source

There are two main types of historical sources: primary sources and secondary sources.

A primary source is something that originates from the past. It can be a chronicle, a piece of pottery, or even a piece of glacial ice that gives us climate data about the levels of atmospheric carbon one thousand years ago. Historians, to the best of their abilities, work with primary sources to understand the past on its own terms, not through the modern-day lenses. For example, if one were only to study the Crusades through modern-day books they would not be able to understand what would motivate a knight to travel across the world and engage in warfare against Muslims in his own words. It would be too easy to view his motivations with our modern-day disapproval of his actions. But if we look at a primary source we can at least sympathize better with the medieval world that would make the act of Holy War seem reasonable to him, even if we still strongly disagree with the outcome.

Senator Warren states that women are "ready to fight back" against unequal pay. Is this a valid argument supported by accurate e
Andru [333]
A and D can be thrown out immediately...she is a Senator she better be supporting her arguments with actual evidence. Also, in the text the paragraph that says women are "ready to fight back" includes the evidence stated in options B and C. Option C is not as strong because it just says that the Paycheck Fairness Act gives "women the tools" but not actually what those tools. B is the best answer because it explains what those tools do.

Which phrase in this excerpt from Kurt Vonnegut's "Report on the Barnhouse Effect" is an example of sarcasm?
Reika [66]

Which phrase in this excerpt from Kurt Vonnegut's "Report on the Barnhouse Effect" is an example of sarcasm?

To ask how much longer the professor will live is to ask how much longer we must wait for the blessings of another world war. He is of short-lived stock: his mother lived to be fifty-three, his father to be forty-nine; and the life-spans of his grandparents on both sides were of the same order. He might be expected live, then, for perhaps fifteen years more, if he can remain hidden from his enemies. When one considers the number and vigor of these enemies, however, fifteen years seems an extraordinary length of time, which might better be revised to fifteen days, hours, or minutes. The professor knows that he cannot live much longer. I say this because of the message left in my mailbox on Christmas Eve. Unsigned, typewritten on a soiled scrap of paper, the note consisted of ten sentences. The first nine of these, each a bewildering tangle of psychological jargon and references to obscure texts, made no sense to me at first reading. The tenth, unlike the rest, was simply constructed and contained no large words.

Answer:

To ask how much longer the professor will live is to ask how much longer we must wait for the blessings of another world war.

Explanation:

Sarcasm is simply defined as using irony to mock or ridicule something or someone.

From this excerpt of Kurt Vonnegut's "Report on the Barnhouse Effect". the phrase that is used which is an example of sarcasm is To ask how much longer the professor will live is to ask how much longer we must wait for the blessings of another world war.

War is not a blessing, so the narrator used that word to show irony to probably convey contempt. Also, he also means that no one knows how long the professor will live because it is as uncertain as knowing when a world war will start.

"blessings" being the key word, because a world war would not bring blessings, but devastation.
